FOKA. Forum on Culture will soon take place in Katowice – a two-day event dedicated to the relationships between culture, science, and society. It is a unique space for discussing the future of culture in the GZM Metropolis, organized at a key moment in the preparations for 2027, when Katowice and the GZM will become the Polish Capital of Culture.
The idea behind the forum is to give a voice to young people – especially students of culture-related fields – who are already shaping its landscape and will continue to do so in the future.

Friday – Student Day
The first day of the event is dedicated exclusively to students and will take the form of an open discussion. The main topics will include:
- the role of young people in culture
- their needs and expectations
- the importance of grassroots initiatives
- challenges faced by cultural institutions
This is a space for honest dialogue and a real opportunity to influence what the culture of the future should look like and what conditions are needed for its development.
Saturday – Open Day
The second day of the forum is open to all interested participants. The program includes, among others:
- a discussion on trends and cultural intelligence
- a presentation on the future of new media art in Poland
- a talk on the impact of major technology companies on creators and education
Saturday offers a broader perspective on the technological, social, and cultural changes that are already shaping the way culture is created and experienced.
