Chancellor of the Academy of Silesia Honored for His Contribution to the Development of Polish Craftsmanship

The Chancellor of the Academy of Silesia, Arkadiusz Hołda, has been awarded the Honorary Badge “The Sabre of Jan Kiliński” – the highest distinction granted by the crafts community in recognition of outstanding contributions to the development of Polish craftsmanship and the promotion of its achievements both in Poland and abroad.
The ceremonial presentation of the award took place during the jubilee 30th Grand Gala of the Chamber of Crafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. This prestigious event was held on 6 April in the exceptional setting of the concert hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice. Organised for the thirtieth time, the Gala has become a permanent fixture in the calendar of the most important celebrations of craftsmanship and entrepreneurship in the Silesian region.
The event brought together over two thousand distinguished representatives of the business and crafts sectors, as well as prominent guests from the worlds of politics, academia and public life, underscoring its significant importance. During the Gala, companies and individuals distinguished by innovation, service quality and their contribution to regional economic development were honoured.
Numerous prestigious awards were presented, including “Company with Quality”, “Company with a Future”, and “Reliable Business Leader”, granted to enterprises offering products and services of the highest standard. The “Family Business” award was presented to companies cultivating local traditions and strengthening regional identity through unique craftsmanship. The title “Trusted Friend of Craftsmanship” was awarded to an individual particularly committed to promoting and supporting the values of the crafts sector.
Recognition was also given to companies focused on modern solutions – the “SME Innovation Leader” award honoured those boldly implementing new technologies. The younger generation was likewise acknowledged, with the “Young Talents of Craftsmanship” title awarded to aspiring craftsmen developing their skills with passion and dedication. The culmination of the evening was the announcement of the “Craftsman of the Year”, an individual whose professional achievements set a benchmark for the entire sector.
The evening concluded with a concert by Golec uOrkiestra, whose dynamic performance provided the audience with unforgettable musical experiences.
